It
is with deepest regret that we inform you that David Botelho passed
unexpectedly in July, 2009 while vacationing in Portugal and following one of
his passions Fly Fishing the rivers in and around Coimbra, home of the 2006
World Fly Fishing Championships. David's email address is currently
being monitored by his son, Phil, should you wish to contact the Botelho family

In David's words:
I am retired from State Law
Enforcement and during my 36 year career I fly fished to keep my sanity. Next
to my family it is my second passion. I am also a private pilot and a freelance
fly fishing photographer, and a perfectionist in my sport, so when I tie a fly
it is to scale. I will bring the real insect home and put it under a microscope
and measure the thorax, tail, wings, etc. and then I will create a replica
knowing how selective trout are. That is what I did with the Inchworm. I have
been published twice in the Orvis News, Volume 34 no.2 and Volume 37
no.2 as well as Poul Jorgensen's Dry Fly Patterns of the New Millennium,
and his Wet Fly Patterns due out soon, and Fly Fish America
Magazine.
Thank you, and remember, ALWAYS practice "Catch and
Release." |
